For an invention that was created and then used for another purpose I chose Crazy Glue. Harry Coover was the inventor of cyanoacrylate which makes up crazy glue. It was suppose to be used to hold gun sights in place but failed. It was then going to be used for airplane canopies but also failed. After it was used to patch up soldiers so they wouldn't bleed to death on the battle field. Now it is used as an adhesive around a home or in an office. The scientists just tried different uses. They used trial and error. There is a problem with using objects without the intended use. It could come with disastrous side effects that can cause problems.
